31st March 2010 Flooding Rhode Island Warwick Mall

The next morning Jonathan and I go see the damage. This was taken at 7:30am around the Warwick Mall.

Rhode Island Flooding

Crazy! It will be days, even weeks before we know the true economic impact of the historic floods in Rhode Island after storms this week have dumped several of inches of rain across the state. Water began flooding the Warwick mall on Tuesday afternoon, after the Pawtuxet River rose above its banks. Watch latest updated news on Rhode Island Flooding at http://budurl.com/streamdirect

Water streamed into the building. More than 2-3 feet of water have poured into the Warwick Mall which has been open for 40 years, but never has had this sort of flooding incident. Business owners at this point expect the worst case in terms of storm damage, but it may take days for the waters to recede so they can assess their losses.

This video below was shot between the hours of 1pm and 4pm on Tuesday March 30, 2010. The shots were taken from the bridge over the Pawcatuck River in downtown Westerly. Also shown is the Up River Cafe. Other shots were of Industrial Drive in Westerly taken from up on the hill on Friendship Street. The shots in Ashaway were taken by the bridge over the Pawcatuck near Comolli Granite and in front of BDA in Bradford.
